Despite this, lung cancer receives less funding than breast cancer and prostate cancer, and is the least funded cancer per death. There is a stigma associated with lung cancer, but it's important to note that 20% of all lung cancer deaths are of non-smokers. In fact, if lung cancer in non-smokers had its own separate category, it would rank among the top 10 fatal cancers in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society.
